About Us

WasteSafe is a division of DataSafe, Inc. Founded in 1946, DataSafe is a third generation, family owned and operated records management company in Northern California.

DataSafe was founded by Robert S. Reis who ran a successful moving and storage company in downtown San Francisco. Robert saw an opportunity to provide outstanding service to his corporate companies by offering document storage solutions in his facilities. Robert’s son, Tom Reis, later joined DataSafe and expanded the company to offer a full suite of records management services. When Robert’s grandsons, Rob and Scott Reis, joined the company, they wanted to expand beyond records management. They saw that opportunity in medical waste.

Tom Reis, Chief Executive Officer

Tom Became President and CEO of DataSafe in 1986. He joined the company in 1978 as Controller and then served as Vice President of Operations.

Tom received his BA in Psychology from Middlebury College in Vermont and his MBA from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He also earned his Certified Public Accountant certificate with Haskins and Sells (now Deloitte & Touche.)

Rob Reis, President

Rob Reis, elder son of Tom Reis, joined DataSafe as a full-time employee in May 2005 as the Operations Manager for the Vital Records facilities. In 2008, he was promoted to Vice President. Rob had previously been employed by DataSafe on a part-time basis for over 10 years as a summer employee. During that period, he worked in all operating departments and assisted in computer conversions in 1998 and 2001.

Scott Reis, Director of Sales

Scott Reis, younger son of Tom, joined DataSafe as a full time employee in 2007 as a Client Services Representative. Currently overseeing all sales efforts and client relationships in all markets of operation.

Amy Magni, Director of Corporate Services

Amy Magni began working for DataSafe in 2009 as a Human Resources Generalist. She was promoted to Human Resources Manager and then in 2016, to the Director of Corporate Services. She currently oversees the Human Resources and Client Services Departments.

Daryl Savage, Director of Operations

Daryl Savage joined DataSafe in 2001 as a Delivery Representative. Daryl worked his way up at DataSafe, holding various roles in operations. In 2010, Daryl was promoted to DataSafe’s Director of Operations. Prior to joining DataSafe, Daryl successfully owned and operated two separate businesses.

Jose Moreno, Director of Information Technology

Jose Moreno is our Director of Information Technology.
